Bakwaph, Peter Kanyip B.Sc, M.A, PhD
SENIOR LECTURER

Rev. Fr. Dr. Bakwaph, Peter Kanyip is a Roman Catholic Priest of Kaduna Archdiocese, ordained in 2003. He is a senior lecturer at the Veritas University (Catholic University of Nigeria), Abuja and currently the deputy dean of faculty of education. He is also a visiting lecturer at Kaduna State University in the department of Religious Studies and a facilitator with National Teachers’ Institute Kaduna State.

He had his Primary School Certificate from Badarawa Primary School, Kaduna, in 1986 and   Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) from St. Joseph’s Vom, Plateau State in 1993. Fr. Bakwaph got his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Urbanian University Rome in 1998 and Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from University of Jos in 2003. In 2004 he got Advance Diploma in Education from Kaduna State College of Education Gidan Waya and in 2009 Master of Arts in Theology (M.A. – Biblical Studies), Seton Hall University, NJ. USA. In 2013, Fr. Bakwaph obtained his PhD. in Higher Education Leadership, Management & Policy, Seton Hall University, NJ, USA.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Bakwaph is a member of the following Learned/Professional Societies/Groups: Member of Golden Key International Honour Society, USA, Member the Chronicle of Higher Education, Washington D.C. USA, Member of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, Member Catholic Theological Association of Nigeria (CATHAN) and Member Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP) an affiliate of Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration and Management (CCEAM).

Fr. Bakwaph held the following positions in the Veritas University and outside: Deputy Dean College of Education, Veritas University; Chairman Journal and Conference Committee, College of Education Veritas University, Chairman Sanitary committee and ICT Committee, College of Education Veritas University; Chaplain, Holy Trinity Catholic Chaplaincy, Kaduna State University, Kaduna; Chaplain Police College Kaduna and Research Graduate Assistant, Seton Hall University, NJ, USA.
