Veritas University Abuja, joins the rest of the world to commemorate the 2022 World International Women’s Day. This is in recognition of the enormous role women plays in contributing to societal development. As captured in the United Nation’s theme for the year: “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”, the International Women’s Day bring to the fore, the complimentary role of both male and female gender in contributing to sustainable development, rather than rivalry as is often portrayed in some quarters of the society.

The Vice Chancellor, Veritas University Abuja, Rev. Fr. Prof. Hyacinth Ichoku represented by the Head, Department of Public and International Law, Dr. Chukwudi Victor Odoeme, assured of the University’s readiness for continuous sensitization of gender tolerance, through the Centre for Gender studies and the many other platforms at the university’s disposal.
In a welcome address, the Director, Centre for Gender Studies, Veritas University Abuja, Associate Prof. Angela Ngozi Dike, stated that the event offers opportunity essentially for women and girls to learn more about their talents and rights while emphasizing the cooperation of the male folks towards the empowerment of women towards a better society.
A Civil Society Organization, Gender Mobile Initiative (GMI) were on ground to partner Veritas University in encouraging safe space for female access to education.
