The National Universities Commission (NUC), on the 20th January, 2020 wrote Veritas University, Abuja notifying the Vice Chancellor that the resource assessment visits to the university for new programmes have been approved. The letter, signed by the Director of Academic Planning of the NUC, Dr. N.B. Saliu, read thus;

“The Vice Chancellor is please invited to recall that a resource verification visit was carried out by experts to some proposed academic programmes in Veritas University, Bwari-Abuja with a view to assessing the human and material resources available for their establishment. I am directed to inform you that the Executive Secretary has considered and approved the establishment of the full-time mode of the following undergraduate programmes, to be run in the Main Campus of the University with effect from the 2019/2020 academic session:
1. Computer Engineering, B. Eng.
2. Electronic Engineering, B. Eng.
All programmes shall bear only the approved titles and nomenclatures and any change will require the approval of the Commission. The University is enjoined to provide adequate human and material resources for the development and growth of the approved programmes.”

In view of the above, the Acting Director, Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Bede C. Anyaegbunam, on the 24th January, 2020 also notified the University Community on the positive development. The new programs are offered in the Faculty of Engineering of the Veritas University headed by Professor Anthony Nzeako as Dean. Professor Nzeako was trained in Leningrad, USSR and possesses a Ph. D. in Systems Engineering, from Catholic University, Nijmegen, in the Netherlands. He is also a Chartered Engineer registered with COREN.
