NUC PANELS VISIT VUNA FOR PROGRAMMES ACCREDITATION

March 26-30, 2012. National Universities Commission, (NUC) accreditation panels had visited the Obehie take-off campus of the University for the accreditation of the nine programmes offered in the University. The respective panels paid courtesy visits to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor David I. Ker,OON on arrival to brief him about their mission in the University. The first two panels that arrived on Monday, March 26 consisting of the Arts and Management panels were for the programmes in English and Literal Studies, and History and International Relations; and Accounting, and Marketing and Advertising respectively. Members of the panel for Arts include: Professor Z. O. Apata (Chairman), Professor A. Amen, Professor Iheanacho Akakuru and Miss. Louisa Ibhaze (NUC representative.) The Panel for Management include: Professor Mrs. J.O.Ande (Chairman), Alhaji Farouk (ICAN representative), Mr. Rilwanu Salihu (NUC representative). On Tuesday, March 27, the panel for Social Sciences comprising; Economics, and Political Science and diplomacy arrived for the programme accreditation exercise. Members of the panel include: Professor Mrs. Ayodele Ogundipe (Chairman), Professor E. J. Nwabuzor, Professor Olaniyi and Mr. Taiwo Adeola (NUC representative). The panel for programmes in Natural and Applied Sciences arrived on Thursday, March 29 with the following membership: Professor Egboh (Chairman), Professor Medina Kadiri, Professor G. O. Awiri, Professor Tunde Idowu, Professor Mrs. E. A. Ekundayo, and Professor M. Sanni Sule, and Mr. D. O. Okuro (NUC representative). In all, each of the panels visited the University Library, laboratories, resource rooms, classrooms, staff offices and inspected documentation in the various programmes as well as interaction with staff and students.
